I went to bed last night reading that Muhammed Ali had been hospitalised and in a critical state. I remember thinking that 2016 had taken a few greats already, and hopefully Ali would not be on that list just yet. Sadly, I woke up to my Twitter feeds filled with tributes and messages reflecting on the greatness of Muhammad Ali as he had passed away through the night.
It’s been a while since I last wrote, a few months at least. My aim for the day was to make a return to writing, putting my thoughts to paper and then type it out and post it. So as the world mourns a true champion I thought it would only be right to share some of my favourite quotes from Muhammed Ali himself. Hopefully, you read these feeling encouraged, uplifted and reminded to reach your full potential.
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee 🐝
Life is never plain sailing, sometimes we are faced with adversity, which can be challenging and difficult. Remember that life is our best teacher, so we can only learn from it. Once we’ve sussed it all out you will surely be on top.
Silence is golden when you can’t think of a good answer😶
Sometimes I’ve found myself saying something out of panic, just so that I’ve given an answer. However, I’ve learnt that it’s ok to keep shtum. Especially if you don’t know.
Don’t count days; Make the days count
Ali is right here, we must seize the day and the opportunities that come our way. My mother always says to us, “why put off something that can be done today for tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes” and it’s so true, make the days count!
The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life
Self growth and development is everything. You’re not going to be the same person you were at 20 at 50. You would have been exposed to arrange of things that has changed your outlook on things. Which is the beauty of life.
Rest in perfect peace Muhammed Ali. May you sleep well!
